**What is the opportunity?**
As a member of the RBC Capital Markets Productivity & Efficiency (P&E) team, you will support our strategic efficiency efforts across businesses and functions. Our mandate is to enhance cost transparency to introduce new ways of identifying efficiencies to enable continuous investment in future growth. We’re seeking a highly skilled Summer Intern to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will excel at working independently while also collaborating effectively with the team. This role demands strong critical thinking skills and a capacity for independent decision making.
**What will you do?**
- Apply business acumen and strategic/financial analysis to support project execution, including planning, analysis, industry trends, assessment of alternatives, developing recommendations, and communicating results.
- Understand linkages between P&E mindset and business strategy documents, business cases, and forecasts.
- Regularly report progress of work stream status, milestones, achievements, and risks/issues.
- Support team members in managing workstreams and presenting deliverables.
**What do you need to succeed?**
**Must-have:**
- Experience with business problem solving and financial analysis.
- Excellent business communication skills.
- Proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, lookups), with a focus on storyboarding and presentations.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently, prioritize, and execute tasks.
**Nice-to-have:**
- Previous co-op/internship experience in a similar role.
- General knowledge of the Capital Markets industry/products (Corporate & Investment Banking, Global Markets, etc.) and/or experience in Financial Management, Analysis, and Planning.
- Understanding of zero-based budgeting and cost efficiency.
