**Job Summary**
Financial Resource Optimization (FRO) is responsible for the management of capital resources in support of RBC’s key strategic objectives. FRO’s mandate includes the measurement, monitoring, and forecasting of risk-weighted assets, leverage, and capital metrics. FRO collaborates with Businesses, Strategy, Group Risk Management, and other Finance groups to measure and deploy capital in support of RBC’s growth and financial goals while adhering to regulatory requirements.
As a Data & Product Analyst student, you will work within the FRO Data, Systems and Business Solutions team, supporting the Product Owners with existing infrastructure and upgrades due to key Regulatory Initiatives and major business strategies.
**Job Description**
You will support the Product team by contributing to:
- **Analytics & Metrics:** Assist our team in making data-driven decisions by analyzing key data sets related to Capital Measurement and Reporting. Develop agile metrics (e.g., sprint velocity, burndown) to oversee business operations and enhance agile maturity. Prototype, test, and operationalize dashboards, KPIs, and visualizations.
- **Backlog Management and Prioritization:** Help improve key business processes by investigating and documenting any business process issues, engaging with stakeholders, and providing concise communication of findings. Collaborate with FRO team members to develop and implement solutions.
- **Special Projects:** Apply creativity and special skills to enhance our product and user experience.
**What do you need to succeed?**
**Must-Have:**
- Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution focusing on Business, Finance, Data Science & Data Analytics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative and analytical thinker capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
- Leadership potential with a desire to apply it in a dynamic business setting.
- Capability to manage multiple priorities and assignments effectively.
- Experience applying an agile mindset.
**Nice-to-Have:**
- Knowledge of capital and risk management.
- Experience with business analysis processes (requirements gathering, documentation, use cases).
- Interest or prior experience in the financial industry or FinTech.
- Familiarity with agile or design thinking methodologies.
- Demonstrated blend of technical and business skills.
**Eligibility:**
To qualify for these student positions, you must either:
- Be returning to school after the work term end date; or
- Require the full work term as a mandatory component for graduation, if you are graduating immediately after the work term.
