**Job Summary**
Financial Resource Optimization (FRO) is responsible for the management of capital resources in support of RBC’s key strategic objectives. FRO’s mandate includes measurement, monitoring, and forecasting of risk-weighted assets, leverage, and capital metrics. As a Data Analyst, you’ll work in the FRO Data, Systems, and Business Solutions team supporting the Product/Modeling team with the existing infrastructure platform and the build-out of the bank’s next-generation solution for Regulatory and Economic Capital Measurement.

**Job Description**
In this role, you will support the Product team by contributing to:

- **Analytics & Metrics**: Conduct data analysis to determine data quality on various data feeds and collaborate with team members to design and build ML/AI algorithms for data quality improvement.

- **Root Cause Problem Solving**: Investigate business processes, document findings, and work with FRO team members to implement effective solutions.

- **Technical Writing**: Develop a program for preserving product knowledge during the migration of software platforms and assist in driving user adoption.

- **Special Projects**: Engage in innovative projects that enhance product and user experience.

**What do you need to succeed?**
**Must-Have**:
- Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on STEM or Business.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Creative and analytical thinker, self-driven, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience analyzing and manipulating large data sets using SQL, Hive, or other querying tools.
- Knowledge of Tableau or other visualization software, and programming skills in Python or R.
- Familiarity with data cleaning, data mining, data quality, and machine learning concepts.

**Nice-to-Have**:
- Knowledge of capital and risk management.
- Interest or previous experience in the financial industry or FinTech.

**Eligibility**:
To be eligible for these student positions, you must either:
- Be returning to school after the work term end-date; or
- Require the full work term as a mandatory component to graduate.
