**Position**: Advanced Practice Nurse Educator (APNE)
**Union**: Non-Union

**Department**: Hemodialysis
**Reports to**: Manager
**Hours**: 37.5 hours per week
**Salary**: $94,380 - $117,975 per annum
**Status**: Permanent Full-Time

The Advanced Practice Nurse Educator (APNE) is a key member of the Collaborative Academic Practice and Practice-Based Education portfolios. The APNE works with unit interdisciplinary leadership teams and demonstrates competencies essential to developing and maintaining the academic practice environment at UHN. These competencies focus on education and staff development, interprofessional collaboration, scholarly activity, and leadership/change management.

Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing learning needs and developing, delivering, and evaluating educational programs.
- Collaborating to promote quality nursing education.
- Contributing to the scholarship of teaching, discovery, application, and integration of knowledge through research and scholarly work.

**Qualifications**
- Completion of a Master’s degree in Nursing or equivalent; Education preferred (candidates in the final semester of a Master’s program may be considered).
- Knowledge of Nephrology Hemodialysis Modalities.
- Recent Nephrology Nursing and Educator experience preferred.
- Completion of Nephrology 1 and 2 courses preferred.
- Theoretical and practical experience in adult education, including learning needs assessment, educational program planning, development, and evaluation.
- Current certificate of licensure/registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) Level II certification.
- Excellent leadership, time management, and presentation skills.
- Ability to adapt, build trust, coach, collaborate, facilitate change, and promote continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate staff and create a conducive learning environment.
- Strong knowledge in specialty areas and the education process.
- Competence in the use of information technology.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
