**Position Overview:**

Join the Capital Markets arm of CIBC, where you will support our corporate, government, and institutional clients in raising capital and investing globally. As an Analyst on the Global Mining & Forestry team, you will become an integral member of the Deal Team, working closely with senior corporate bankers. Your responsibilities will include financial statement and data analysis, financial modeling, credit analysis, industry research, and preparing information memoranda and client pitch books. You will also be involved in the credit approval process, documentation, and management of the loan portfolio. This role is fast-paced and requires dedication and a strong work ethic.

**Responsibilities:**

- Conduct in-depth company, industry, and portfolio analysis to support credit relationships for a client portfolio.
- Prepare client proposals and pitch documents, including market update slides and syndication strategy.
- Provide timely recommendations for credit facilities, supported by thorough analysis and interpretation of financial and market information.
- Run financial models focused on credit analysis and risk rating evaluation.
- Prepare presentation materials and profitability assessments, collaborating with other product and industry groups within CIBC Capital Markets.

**Qualifications:**

- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience and an undergraduate degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a related field.
- A strong interest in the mining and resources sector is favorable.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
- Strong technical skills in computer applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and industry technology (Bloomberg).
- Detail-oriented with a natural curiosity for learning and interpreting information.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a commitment to professionalism and ethics.
