**POSITION SUMMARY:**
Reporting to the Molding Manager, the Assistant Molding Manager is responsible for positively influencing adherence to Molding production best practices in all aspects of the daily running of the molding department. The Assistant Molding Manager engages with the Shift Supervisors and Team Members daily to ensure compliance with all Molding Production processes and procedures, assist in the resolution of daily production issues, and establish a learning culture.

**POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:**

- **Maintain a High Level of Plant and Machine Safety:**
Ensure all Molding team members are trained and performing safely and efficiently. Collaborate with the Health and Safety Specialist to carry out and document accident investigations, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions. Promote proactive hazard identification and ensure adherence to health & safety policies.

- **Support Performance Improvement Actions:**
Interact with Team Members and Shift Supervisors to ensure Standard Work is established and maintained. Communicate with management on Team Member concerns to ensure timely feedback.

- **Drive Actions to Improve Departmental KPI's:**
Understand and support targets for people, quality, delivery, and cost. Regularly audit the Shop Floor for compliance and ensure proper documentation of inspections. Work closely with Shift Supervisors on corrective actions when performance is off target.

- **Report and Communicate:**
Attend daily Molding Production Meetings and participate in quality meetings. Ensure effective communication between Shift Supervisors and maintain a ‘Molding Open Issues Board.’

- **Establish Training and Continuous Improvement Culture:**
Work with stakeholders to develop training materials and support professional development for Molding Team Members. Participate in Continuous Improvement projects and track the execution of Molding specific projects.

**SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:**

- **Educational Requirements:**
Undergraduate degree or diploma in injection molding, plastics, or mechanical field is a definite asset.

- **Minimum Experience/Field:**
10 years of progressive leadership in a fast-paced, high-volume Lean Manufacturing environment with 3-5 years in a technical leadership role.

- **Computer Skills:**
Good PC skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

- **Physical Requirements:**
This position involves both office and plant exposure with considerable time spent on the shop floor in a noisy environment.

- **Communication Skills:**
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to coach and positively influence Team Members.
