**Role Overview:**
As the Specialist, Payroll (Bilingual), you will play a crucial role in supporting our biweekly payroll production and lead vendor payroll activities. This position combines financial accounting and reconciliations with HR processes and practices, making you a key member of the Payroll Team and the liaison between vendor partners, the Strategic Partnership team, and the Finance department.
**Responsibilities:**
*General Payroll Accountabilities:*
- Manage the accurate, timely, and confidential preparation and distribution of Holt Renfrew payroll.
- Assist with month-end and year-end processing.
- Provide advice and guidance to employees and leaders on payroll matters and resolve escalated payroll issues.
- Perform audits, reconciliations, and reporting as needed.
- Act as the main point of contact for the Finance team on all labor dollar and payroll information.
- Collaborate with internal partners as a payroll expert on all initiatives and projects.
- Maintain knowledge of internal systems related to pay, including HRIS and SAP.
- Prepare reports as required and stay updated on payroll legislation and guidelines.
*Leased Payroll Accountabilities:*
- Liaise with the Strategic Partnership team to support leased employees and commission management.
- Work with leased vendor partners and internal departments on all issues regarding leased vendor employees and commission chargebacks.
- Provide consultation as the expert on leased employees and prepared financial reconciliations and reports.
- Assist with financial investigations and manage leased reciprocal commission charts.
- Partner on vendor contract revisions and escalate necessary changes.
**Qualifications:**
- Minimum 3-5 years of advanced experience in a payroll or finance department.
- Completion of PCP with the Canadian Payroll Association, or equivalent certification.
- Bilingual in French and English (mandatory).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, and organizing skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Expert-level Excel skills (e.g., v-lookups, pivot tables, complex formulas).
- Experience with HRIS required; Workday experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently, efficiently, and under pressure.
