**Role Overview:**
As the Business Development Manager for Clinical Laboratory Automation, you will lead strategic initiatives to drive product expertise and growth. Your role includes developing strategies to acquire new business and retain strategic accounts, guiding the sales organization in complex consultative selling engagements, and advocating for our clinical laboratory solutions.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Lead and advocate for Clinical Laboratory Automation product lines, developing and executing product line strategies.
- Support demand forecasting and contribute to annual revenue planning and unit sales projections.
- Introduce new tools and initiatives to the sales team to propel marketing efforts.
- Conduct market evaluations and analyze customer dynamics to inform competitive marketing strategies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends and identify gaps and opportunities.
- Collaborate with sales training needs and establish business relationships with key opinion leaders.
- Oversee national tradeshows and customer events, manage technical communications, and secure access to competitive accounts.
- Develop impactful sales messages to assist customers in meeting business objectives.
- Coach and develop team members for effective performance and growth.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the Healthcare Industry specifically within Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics.
- Proven track record in selling In Vitro diagnostic laboratory products and automation systems.
- Strong experience in capital equipment sales and/or marketing, particularly in hospital clinical laboratories.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Valid driver's license in Canada with a clean driving record.
**Travel Requirements:**
- Ability to travel 50% both domestically and internationally.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Bilingual in French and English (written and verbal).
**Working Environment:**
This role is primarily remote, requiring strong discipline and organizational skills to work autonomously. Typical demands include travel (up to 60%) and the ability to conduct meetings effectively.
**Physical Demands:**
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Frequent travel required across various modes including air, train, and automobile.
