**Job Title: Data Engineer**

**Location:** Hybrid (Two days in-office)

As a Data Engineer, you will work with advanced big data technologies to manage data systems that generate billions of events daily. This role is critical to understanding and anticipating customer needs, leveraging data at the core of our business.

**In This Role You Will:**
- Participate in cloud migration and modernize current data systems.
- Oversee data systems managing hundreds of millions of real-time events daily.
- Collaborate on building software to collect and query data.
- Diagnose and resolve issues within the data infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines on cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure) using orchestration tools like Apache Airflow.
- Implement ETL and ELT processes for data ingestion, transformation, and cleansing.
- Create and maintain optimized data models in cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Redshift, Synapse).
- Establish data validation and testing frameworks to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
- Implement monitoring and alerting for data pipelines using relevant tools.
- Develop and maintain machine learning pipelines for financial data analysis.

**Who You Are:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering and development.
- Proficient with search engines like Apache Lucene, Solr, and ElasticSearch.
- Expert knowledge of Big Data solutions (Cassandra, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Experienced with indexing, machine-learned rankings, and clustering strategies.
- Expertise in Google Cloud Platform services (BigQuery, Cloud Dataflow, Cloud Composer).
- Strong in ETL/ELT processes and data transformation tools (Apache Beam, Dataflow, Airflow).
- Proficient in Python, SQL, and ideally Java/Scala for data processing.
- Experience with CI/CD for data pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins).

**Work Model:**
Priceline follows a hybrid working model, requiring two onsite days per week, with the flexibility to work remotely on remaining days.
