**Job Posting: Data Engineer**

**What You’ll Do**
The Data Science, Applied AI & Data Products/Operations team at Canadian Tire designs, develops, and automates customer-facing data products and services. These products and services enable customer-focused analytical solutions that add business value. The diverse team consists of data scientists, engineers, developers, and analysts united by a common goal to enhance customer and brand experience across the corporation. Reporting to the Data Science Manager, the Data Engineer will play a key role in building out a machine learning-powered customer experience, particularly the Loyalty 1-1 Customer Recommendation System.

**Responsibilities:**
- Develop and optimize existing and new data products based on machine learning (e.g., 1:1 offer recommendation).
- Design and implement data pipelines to monitor and validate model assumptions and performance, adhering to best-in-class coding standards.
- Work on ad-hoc projects leveraging multiple internal and external data sources such as sales, inventory, cost, digital analytics, and loyalty.
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to influence decision-making with data and data products.

**What You Bring**
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Engineering, Science, Mathematics/Statistics, or Computer Science.
- 4+ years of experience in the data domain or working with large datasets.
- Strong knowledge of SQL for complex data analysis; experience with Python/Spark is preferable.
- Working knowledge of building machine learning and mathematical models.
- Familiarity with data technologies and analytical platforms/tools (Hadoop, Azure, GCP, BigQuery, Power BI, Data Studio, Airflow, Snowflake).
- Experience with data visualization platforms such as Looker, Google DataStudio, Tableau is a plus.
