**Job Title: Data Engineer**

The Data Engineer will be part of the Software Engineering team that delivers products and platforms enabling OMERS Global Investments (GI) to analyze opportunities, make investment decisions, and optimize the investment portfolio. This role involves collaboration with various investment teams and support functions, with the goal of enhancing data and analytics capabilities.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Define and execute technical test plans and automate regression tests.
- Deploy ETL/ELT pipelines focusing on reliability, scalability, and security.
- Source, transform, and deliver structured and unstructured data for analytics.
- Optimize performance of ETL pipelines and data sources.
- Monitor pipelines to improve reliability and automate audits.
- Communicate effectively within the Agile development environment, engaging with product managers, analysts, IT specialists, and senior management.
- Partake in developing and implementing best practices in data management.

**Qualifications:**
- 3-8 years of experience with Microsoft Azure data stack or equivalent in solving complex technical data projects; financial industry experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific or engineering field or equivalent work experience.
- Microsoft Data Engineer Associate certificate is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of industry best practices, operational procedures, and tuning guides.
- Proven track record in building and maintaining technical relationships and aligning expectations across partners.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, especially in tracing data lineage and workflows.
- Experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructures, data architecture, modeling, and warehousing.
- Expertise in Azure Data Platform resources, specifically Azure Databricks, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, and Azure Data Factory.
- Proven experience in automating CI/CD pipelines and working with Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with star schema reporting pipelines using Kimball or Data Vault v2.0 methodologies.
