**Job Title: Data Scientist, Verticals Team**

**Company: Lyft**

**Location: Toronto (Hybrid Schedule)**

**About Us:**
At Lyft, our mission is to improve people’s lives with the world’s best transportation. We are committed to creating an open, inclusive, and diverse organization. Data Science is at the heart of Lyft’s products and decision-making, and we are looking for a Data Scientist to join our Verticals team.

**About the Role:**
As a Data Scientist on the Verticals team, you will leverage data and analytical thinking to shape our products and drive business decisions. Your role will involve identifying opportunities, shaping team priorities, recommending and implementing technical solutions, designing experiments, and measuring the impact of new features.

The Verticals team focuses on three critical markets: airports, scheduled rides, and events. Airports are a key element of Lyft’s Rideshare business, and scheduled rides allow riders to book in advance with reliability. Your work will help enhance the rider and driver experiences and support market growth.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Leverage data and analytical frameworks to identify opportunities for growth and efficiency.
- Construct and fit statistical or machine learning models for production decisions.
- Design and analyze online experiments; communicate results and drive launch decisions.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, marketers, and other partners to translate data insights into actionable strategies.
- Develop frameworks to monitor business and product performance, as well as establish key metrics.

**Experience and Qualifications:**
- Degree in a quantitative field (statistics, economics, applied math, operations research, or engineering); advanced degrees preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or management consulting.
- Proficiency in developing machine learning models and end-to-end data handling (querying, analysis, visualization).
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.

**Benefits:**
- Extended health and dental coverage options, life insurance, and disability benefits.
- Mental health and family building benefits.
- Access to a Health Care Savings Account.
- 15 days paid time off, with an additional day for each year of service, plus 4 Floating Holidays.
- 10 paid sick days per year.
- 18 weeks of paid parental leave for biological, adoptive, and foster parents.

**Diversity and Inclusion:**
Lyft is proud to pursue and hire a diverse workforce, ensuring equal employment opportunities without discrimination. We strive for a healthy and safe workplace and strictly prohibit harassment of any kind. Accommodation for persons with disabilities will be provided upon request during the application and hiring process.

**Schedule:**
This role will follow a hybrid schedule, requiring in-office work three days a week (Monday, Thursday, and a team-specific third day). Hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to four weeks per year.

If you are passionate about data and want to make a significant impact at Lyft, we encourage you to apply.
