**Job Summary: Developer, Wealth Management**

**What is the Opportunity?**

The Portfolio Advisory Group (PAG) is responsible for advising RBC Wealth Management Canada’s ~2000 Investment Advisors, who collectively manage more than $550 billion in assets at RBC Dominion Securities. The Developer is part of the Investment Analytics team, supporting the investment teams by enhancing the delivery capabilities of our web analytics platform to enable more informed decision-making across a range of portfolios. This role requires strong technical skills and some exposure to the investment industry.

**What will you do?**

- Support the efficiency and effectiveness of PAG’s investment strategy by collaborating with various groups across RBC.
- Design, implement, and maintain our web analytics platform (Dash, Flask, FastAPI).
- Expand data pipelines through extraction, transformation, and loading activities.
- Improve processes through automation where possible.
- Ensure policies and procedures are documented and followed.
- Conduct ad hoc projects, data extractions, or analysis as directed.
- Contribute in a dynamic, start-up-like environment where fast-fail and iterative feedback are valued.

**What do you need to succeed?**

**Must Have:**
- At least 5 years of experience in web development and data engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or strong technical skills with a Business degree or MIS.
- Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, and programming languages/related frameworks (Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS).
- Strong interest or exposure to investments and markets.
- Knowledge of financial systems (FactSet, Bloomberg, Refinitiv) and experience with time series data.

**Nice to Have:**
- Experience with Git, GitHub, OpenShift, and agile design methodologies.
- Pursuing or interested in Chartered Financial Analyst designation or other finance/risk training.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), specifically S3, Athena, EMR, RDS.
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) and analyzing large datasets.
