**Job Title: Engineering Director - Small Modular Reactor (SMR) Projects**

**Location:** Mississauga, ON

**Role Overview:**
The Engineering Director will be instrumental in the development and implementation of Small Modular Reactor (SMR) projects, overseeing engineering activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving innovation in plant design and construction.

**Key Responsibilities:**

1. **Leadership and Management:**
- Lead the engineering team, providing mentorship and support.
- Manage daily engineering operations ensuring timely project completion within budget.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.

2. **Project Oversight:**
- Oversee design, development, and implementation of SMR projects.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with regulatory and safety standards.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams for seamless project execution.

3. **Technical Expertise:**
- Provide leadership in the design and optimization of SMRs.
- Stay informed on advancements in nuclear technology and integrate innovations into designs.
- Conduct technical reviews to maintain the highest quality and safety standards.

4. **Regulatory Compliance:**
- Ensure adherence to local, national, and international regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies for approvals and certifications.
- Develop and implement quality assurance processes.

5. **Stakeholder Engagement:**
- Communicate project progress and technical details to stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships to support project goals.

6. **Resourcing:**
- Forecast resource demands and define project team structures.
- Manage hiring, onboarding, and training of staff, ensuring proper skill alignment.

7. **Training and Mentorship:**
- Organize project-specific training courses as needed.
- Mentor staff to enhance performance and capabilities.

8. **Project Objectives and KPI:**
- Help staff set SMART objectives and track Key Performance Indicators.

9. **Staff Performance and Reviews:**
- Provide clear expectations and feedback on performance.
- Address performance issues and contribute to hiring processes.

**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in nuclear engineering with a focus on design and project management.
- P.Eng registration with PEO or equivalent required.
- Proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams and large-scale projects.
- In-depth knowledge of SMR technology and regulatory requirements.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
