**Position Overview:**

We are looking for a Distinguished Engineer/Architect for our Product Data platform within Autodesk Platform Services. In this role, you will design, build, and scale our data processing and OLTP systems to power futuristic Search and Visualization experiences for millions of users worldwide. You will partner with other technical leaders and product managers across Autodesk to create cutting-edge data offerings and experiences.

**Responsibilities:**

- Lead the software architecture and system design of highly scalable, distributed platform capabilities.
- Collaborate with product teams and leadership to define a strategic technical roadmap, communicate the strategy in various forums, and implement it.
- Champion industry best practices to enhance development standards within the team and organization.
- Align the technical direction with business needs, guiding the team in balancing short-term business opportunities with long-term technical vision.
- Mentor engineers and help build high-performing teams.

**Basic Qualifications:**

- BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
- 15+ years of experience in leading the design of complex systems and hands-on development.
- 5+ years of experience in a technical leadership role within a large, distributed organization, focusing on design and scalability for millions of users.
- Thorough understanding of distributed systems concepts, including scalability, reliability, and security challenges.
- Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with relational/columnar databases, stream processing, and near-real-time workloads.
- Experience in building multi-tenant SaaS architectures with a strong platform and API-first mindset.
- Proficient in API design using REST, GraphQL, or gRPC; conversant in multiple programming languages.
- Strong systems thinker with a desire to understand complex systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex problems to diverse audiences, including executives.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- Experience building SaaS platforms on cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Contributions to open-source projects and/or research in large-scale data and distributed systems.
- Experience in monitoring and improving the reliability of complex systems at scale.
- Familiarity with offline-first architectures and data synchronization for desktop and mobile applications.
- Strong understanding of design patterns and domain/data modeling.
- Experience building data/ML pipelines.
- Familiarity with the graphics and/or gaming industry.
