**Job Description:**
We are seeking an Engineering Manager to help scale our engineering team and work on a greenfield product at Relay. In this role, you will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they meet quality standards, deadlines, and budget constraints.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects.
- Ensure processes, including sprint planning and technical design reviews, are effective and followed.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define and implement the technical vision and strategy.
- Work closely with product management, design, and other stakeholders to align engineering outputs with user needs and business objectives.
- Facilitate cross-functional teams to solve complex problems and deliver innovative solutions.
- Support the growth and development of a high-performing engineering team.
- Foster a collaborative engineering culture that encourages feedback and learning.
- Organize knowledge-sharing sessions and support professional development opportunities for team members.
**Qualifications:**
- 5+ years of relevant development experience in a start-up environment, with at least 1 year of people management experience.
- Strong technical background with a proven track record of shipping high-quality products. Exposure to Node.js, Typescript, React, and AWS is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clarity in uncertain situations.
- Ability to make pragmatic decisions that balance product delivery with customer needs.
- Strong customer focus and commitment to delivering value.
- Creative problem solver with a results-oriented mindset.
- Highly collaborative, able to connect the dots between teams and manage cross-functional initiatives.

- Stage 2: 45-minute Google Meet video call with the Head of Engineering.
- Stage 3: 1-hour Case Study with the Head of Engineering and one engineering manager.
- Stage 4: 45-minute video interview with a member of the Leadership Team.
