The role contributes to the overall success of Strategic Services by providing primary support to the designated executive and general support to Corporate Security, Legal & Corporate Affairs, ensuring the execution of individual goals, plans, and initiatives in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. All activities must be conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

**Is this role right for you?**

In this role, you will:

- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Provide operational support to the CSO & VP’s, including coordinating day-to-day schedule activities, meetings, events, finance, and travel while anticipating conflicts and providing alternatives.
- Lead the development and distribution of strategic department communications in English and Spanish to ensure that the strategy, goals, and department initiatives are understood globally.
- Support the maintenance and upkeep of department-specific information platforms, including SharePoint & Scotiabank Live.
- Provide strategic support through database maintenance, including HR tracking sheets, BCP contact lists, learning development, and skills matrix.
- Develop and distribute strategic documents, including procedures, presentations, letters, attestations, and business plans.
- Plan and execute departmental events, including town halls, strategy sessions, conferences, and celebrations.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding activities of employees within the department, alongside facilities and telephony-related support.
- Monitor, review, and approve standard expenditures to ensure activities are conducted within established budgets and perform variance analysis monthly.
- Ensure consideration of the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Pursue effective and efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles while ensuring adherence to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk obligations.

**Skills**

- The ability to handle sensitive issues with strict confidentiality and accuracy.
- A proactive mindset to troubleshoot and make independent decisions within defined parameters while seeking guidance when necessary.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is required.
- A degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills for interaction with management, business lines, and teamwork.
- Over 3 years of general communications experience.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office suite and relevant software tools.
- A strong understanding of Scotiabank’s organizational structure and adaptability to the operational environment.
