**Position Summary**
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the HACCP Coordinator is accountable for the maintenance of the facility’s HACCP system, including HACCP plans and prerequisite programs. This role is responsible for Food Safety, Regulatory, and BRCGS compliance to ensure that the Company’s objectives for Food Safety and compliance with the required standards meet or exceed expectations and support Sofina’s business philosophy for continuous improvement. The HACCP Coordinator will be the primary contact for CFIA tasks and will carry out the necessary training for associates and production management on specific food safety program requirements.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Manage Sofina HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) and prerequisite programs with respect to regulatory, BRCGS, and customer requirements, including verification of documents, onsite observations, updates for new products, processes or changes, and yearly reassessments to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Accountable for preparation and participation in all third-party audits/CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency).
- Maintain professional interaction with all third-party auditors/CFIA.
- Assist in follow-up corrective actions and preventative measures from audit findings.
- Recommend and implement approved improvements to processes that increase food safety compliance.
- Audit production facility and processes to ensure management/employees adhere to HACCP, Quality Assurance programs, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Deviations are reported to operation management to restore compliance.
- Lead and/or assist the Quality Assurance Manager in all food safety investigations/risk assessments and complete the necessary documentation.
- Maintain and coordinate recall policies and processes, overseeing all HACCP program activities concerning sanitation and service provider activities such as pest control, external laboratories, and cleaning services.
- Participate in QA projects such as microbiological sample collection (e.g. Salmonella, Listeria), microbiological validation studies, and new product launches, focusing on improved compliance and operational efficiency.
- Assist the QA Manager in orienting all employees on quality, regulatory, and food safety principles and policies to ensure they remain current in their knowledge.

**Requirements**
- Diploma/Degree in Food Science or a related discipline with three to five years of food safety-related experience is required.
- HACCP Certification is required.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, GFSI, Quality Regulatory requirements, and systems.
- Strong computer knowledge and ability to work with various programs (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
