**Position Overview:**
Reporting to the Director, Employee Relations & Policy, the HR Business Partner will contribute to company performance by providing strategic consulting on people and organization development strategies in support of business objectives. The role involves performing HR duties for multiple functional groups and acting as the key point of contact within HR.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Build trusted relationships with leaders and employees within client groups.
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining cooperative relationships with key stakeholders.
- Offer day-to-day coaching and consultation on employee and labor relations, policy interpretation, talent management, and organizational design.
- Lead effective collective bargaining processes with external counsel.
- Develop and implement People Plans with clients, ensuring proper communication and documentation of organizational changes.
- Support leadership in performance management, talent, and coaching programs.
- Provide guidance on employee relations, conflict resolution, and best practices in managing a unionized environment.
- Handle administrative tasks related to grievances and employment claims.
- Conduct workplace investigations, develop reports, and provide recommendations for corrective action.
**What You Will Bring:**
- Minimum ten years of experience in Human Resources, primarily in a unionized environment.
- Working knowledge of collective agreements and HR legislation (e.g., Ontario ESA, OHSA, OHRC).
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and negotiate effectively.
- Analytical skills with problem identification and solving capabilities.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment, with strong attention to detail.
- Confidentiality and the ability to handle contentious issues professionally.
- Competency in key HR areas (e.g., succession planning, performance management).
