**Position: Instructional Designer**

**Job Description**
The Instructional Designer will utilize instructional design theories, practices, and methods to create engaging course content and activities that enhance knowledge acquisition and skills development. The successful candidate will quickly learn business content and systems applications, set course and learning objectives, and design courses employing a blended instructional methodology. The role requires an understanding of the company’s mission and values to align training with business goals.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and team members to create, review, and revise training materials.
- Develop interactive, engaging training experiences by applying principles of adult learning, including:
- Addressing learners' past experiences and expertise.
- Building content sequentially.
- Using experiential and interactive training techniques.
- Assisting learners in applying training content to their roles.
- Creating contextualized practice and assessment opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to promote knowledge transfer before, during, and after formal training experiences.
- Ensure training content is accurate and meets competency requirements.
- Develop and publish all collateral training documents, employing plain language writing techniques.
- Test courses with the appropriate audience.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the L&D Senior Manager.

**LMS Administration Responsibilities:**
- Assist with the maintenance of the LMS offerings.
- Create, share, and update system reports as necessary.
- Understand the impact of future LMS vendor releases and patches.
- Troubleshoot employee issues and provide solutions.

**Qualifications**
- Three to four years of progressive experience in learning and development, preferably in a retail setting.
- Experience in developing and designing e-learning course content utilizing principles of adult education.
- Degree in instructional design, education, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to manage relationships and coordinate resources according to shifting priorities.

**Required Skills and Abilities**
- Applied understanding of instructional design principles.
- Proven ability to create courses for blended training programs.
- Strong project management skills, able to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Learning Management Systems (Cornerstone a plus), Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise), and Canva.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
