**Job Description:**
WSP is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our Infrastructure Facilities Electrical Team at our Thornhill office. You will report to the discipline lead and play a key role in delivering high-quality design projects to multiple clients. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer looking to expand their career through comprehensive learning and development.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Perform assignments requiring standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Assist in electrical design under the supervision of senior engineers, including calculations and specifications for power distribution, control, communication, lighting, fire alarm, and security systems for water and wastewater facility projects.
- Apply knowledge of Electrical Engineering requirements, the Ontario Building Code (OBC), Ontario Electrical Safety Code, and relevant IEEE standards.
- Collaborate as a team member within the electrical discipline, directly supervised by Senior Engineers.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 1-5 years of relevant experience in design consulting in Ontario and Canada.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or full P.Eng designation with Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong desire to collaborate and problem-solve.
- Ability to perform interdisciplinary coordination with Mechanical, Structural, and Architectural disciplines.
- Proficient writing skills for preparing meeting minutes, technical memoranda, and reports.
- Knowledge and experience in using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, and GIS for preparing electrical drawings.
- Ability to work independently and deliver comprehensive designs within client-driven deadlines.
