**Job Description:**
The successful candidate will act as a Business Partner, providing consultation to the division’s senior leaders and management teams related to various facets of Human Resources including Labour/Employee Relations, Strategy Development and Planning, Performance Management, Organization Design and Restructuring, Change Management, and Disability Management. This role involves collaboration with corporate partners in the People and Equity division.

The City’s Seniors Services and Long-Term Care Division supports Toronto seniors and residents in long-term care homes, ensuring they have the healthiest and most fulfilling lives possible through exceptional care and services. Vulnerable individuals in the community are supported through adult day programs, supportive housing services, tenancy support, and homemakers and nurses services.

**Major Responsibilities:**
- Provide employee and labour relations support to leaders, including investigating and resolving employee relations inquiries.
- Coach leaders in addressing performance improvement issues, advise on disciplinary procedures, and provide conflict resolution support.
- Assess and analyze organizational effectiveness issues, conducting studies and preparing confidential reports.
- Implement detailed plans and recommend policies specific to program requirements.
- Administer assigned budgets, ensuring expenditures are controlled within approved limits.
- Provide management consulting services related to Human Resources.
- Advise management on policy formulation and coordination regarding programs and services.
- Support project steering committees and lead interdepartmental teams.
- Foster cooperative relationships within and outside the division and maintain current knowledge of practices in related fields.

**Key Qualifications:**
- Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline (e.g., Human Resources, Business Administration) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Considerable experience in Employee/Labour Relations support and another Human Resource functional area in a unionized or private sector organization.
- Experience providing guidance on implementing HR practices, legislative requirements, and collective agreements.
- Strong consultation and advisory skills, with the ability to assess organizational needs and develop effective programs in a unionized environment.
- Proficiency in software applications including Microsoft Office Suite and HR/Payroll applications.
- Capable of preparing comprehensive reports and management correspondence.
- Strong business writing, critical thinking, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to facilitate and present to diverse groups.
- Fundamental knowledge of organizational effectiveness, employment equity, and change management principles.
- Strong organizational and research skills, with the ability to manage projects through to completion.
- Knowledge of complement management principles.
- Support for a culture that champions equity, diversity, and respectful workplaces.
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation is an asset.

As a condition of employment, selected candidates will be required to provide a satisfactory Police Reference Check, tuberculosis screening, and proof of immunization in accordance with the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021.
