**Job Posting: Managing Director – Funds, Teachers’ Venture Growth (TVG)**

**The Opportunity**
As a Managing Director – Funds within Teachers’ Venture Growth (TVG), you will lead a global team of 3-4 investment professionals to deliver the TVG Global Funds Strategy. Your responsibilities will include origination and execution activities for investments in new funds, follow-on commitments, relationship management with our General Partners (GPs), and portfolio level oversight, while collaborating closely with our Direct investment teams across global offices.

Teachers’ Venture Growth (TVG), a department within the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP), focuses on late-stage venture and growth equity investments in tech-enabled businesses. The TVG team of over 25 investment professionals employs direct investing and investing through funds to achieve its goals, currently managing a portfolio of approximately C$2.5Bn in commitments.

**Who You’ll Work With**

You will enhance the collaborative relationship between TVG’s Funds and Direct investing teams, leveraging both styles of investment to achieve differentiated outcomes. As a member of the TVG Senior Team, you will support the delivery of the overall global TVG strategy.

**What You’ll Do**
- Collaborate with the TVG Senior Team and global leaders to shape the evolving TVG Funds strategy and operating model.
- Oversee the global portfolio, providing regular analysis against our objectives of returns, direct deal flow, and market insights.
- Evaluate new and follow-on fund investment opportunities through market mapping and fund manager research.
- Lead execution of fund commitments, engage in key diligence streams, and prepare essential deliverables such as investment memos.
- Manage all aspects of fund underwriting including origination, screening, due diligence, structuring, negotiation, and preparation of internal committee materials.
- Present investment recommendations to relevant internal committees.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with venture capitalists, limited partners, and industry organizations.
- Represent OTPP at LPAC meetings, annual GP meetings, and industry conferences.
- Oversee the valuation, monitoring, and administration of fund investments.
- Support direct investment activities and contribute to discussions on direct investments.
- Foster high-quality talent management through recruitment, retention, and team development.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other investment teams and support departments.
- Contribute to the culture of curiosity and collaboration within TVG.

**What You’ll Need**
- Minimum 12+ years of relevant industry experience; a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required; a graduate degree, MBA, or similar is an asset.
- Experience in constructing and managing a sizeable fund-of-funds portfolio with a focus on venture and growth equity funds.
- Ability to leverage networks across the global venture and growth equity landscape.
- Proven experience in sourcing, leading, and managing fund commitments post-investment.
- Track record in supporting the formation of new fund franchises and platforms.
- Experience investing through market cycles with knowledge of current trends in various tech subsectors.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Excellent relationship-building capabilities and ability to represent the Teachers’ brand effectively.
- CFA designation is an asset.
- Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel frequently as required.
