**Position Overview:**
We are seeking a Sustaining Engineer with mature engineering knowledge to address obsolescence-related issues on established designs for U.S. Navy systems. The role involves modifying guides, devising new approaches, and executing qualification test programs for obsolescence re-designs.
**Responsibilities:**
- Work independently and as part of a matrix organization while ensuring compliance with Quality Management System (QMS), ASME, and Military/Defense Standards.
- Address obsolescence issues for existing military naval systems.
- Create, manage, and execute qualification test programs.
- Analyze existing designs and customer needs to align with Navy mechanical system requirements.
- Support interfacing disciplines such as electrical, software, test, and project management.
- Occasionally travel for on-site field service activities and technical meetings.
- Follow Health & Safety procedures and report any incidents promptly.
**Qualifications:**
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience, with 5 years of hydraulic experience preferred.
- Familiarity with Military Standards for mechanical testing.
- Experience with naval or airborne machinery, including winches and large projects.
- Proficient in project planning, test procedures, qualification testing, and technical report preparation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Applied Science.
- PEO "Professional Engineer" designation.
