**Job Description:**
The Professional Practice Office is seeking a full-time, permanent Nurse Educator. Reporting to the Manager of Interprofessional Practice and Education, you will work collaboratively with the Clinical Program leadership team and After Hours Site Administrators Team to contribute to quality client care for CAMH clients.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Educate point-of-care staff and contribute to practice development.
- Advance professional practice by developing high-performing interprofessional clinical teams.
- Assess and develop clinical and leadership skills of point-of-care staff in collaboration with management.
- Focus on scope of practice issues, interprofessional care planning, and application of best practices.
- Support clinical staff in implementing education initiatives, including patient safety initiatives and clinical policies.
- Involve in performance management of staff, monitor clinical quality improvement measures, and engage in program planning and evaluations.
- Support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity and encourages teamwork.
**Job Requirements:**
- Registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current BCLS (CPR) certificate.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the mental health field, with expertise in severe mental health and addiction issues.
- Nursing degree (BN/BScN) and computer literacy required; MN/MScN preferred.
- Previous teaching experience is essential; CNA certification in psychiatric/mental health nursing is an asset.
- Strong ability to intervene in challenging clinical situations and demonstrate effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Ability to foster a learning environment and engage with diverse populations.
- Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language is an asset.
