SLR Consulting (Canada) is a team of 600+ advisory, environmental/engineering, and regulatory professionals across 18 office locations in Canada. We deliver environmental and sustainability services to our clients through the integration of advisory and over 30 technical environmental and engineering disciplines to help clients address complex challenges around sustainability.

**The Role:**
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, with dotted line reporting to the Regional Managing Director, Canada. The People Business Partner for Canada acts as a key strategic advisor to the leadership team, delivering a people service tailored to the region and harmonized across SLR. This role primarily focuses on partnering with the leadership team and global functions to align people strategies with business objectives.

**Key Accountabilities:**
- Partner with the business to become a trusted advisor to senior leaders.
- Lead the creation and delivery of strategic people plans aligned with business strategy and capability building.
- Collaborate with Global Functions (Talent, Services, and Culture) to guide the business on core people processes and activities.
- Provide management information and insights for effective management of people, costs, and risk.
- Share market trends and best-in-class people management practices to influence business strategy.
- Ensure effective access to Global Function teams within the region.
- Provide expert advice and coaching to line managers on policy queries and employee relations issues.
- Support the integration of newly acquired businesses for a positive people experience.
- Assist with organizational design and change management processes.
- Support projects and process improvements with the global People team.

**Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:**
- Proven experience as a HR Business Partner at a senior level.
- Strong knowledge of provincial employment standards and human rights laws across Canada.
- Experience with a 'Centres of Expertise' HR operating model (e.g., DE&I, HR Services, Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition).
- High business acumen with an understanding of external market dynamics.
- Excellent relationship and account management skills.
- Ability to coach senior managers and manage difficult discussions empathetically.
- Strategic thinking with high emotional intelligence.
- Results-oriented with determination to succeed.
- Collaborative team player with resilience and the ability to handle conflict and setbacks.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
