SLR Consulting (Canada) is a team of over 600 advisory, environmental/engineering, and regulatory professionals across 18 office locations in Canada. We deliver environmental and sustainability services to our clients and help them address complex challenges around sustainability.

**The Role:**
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, and with dotted line reporting to the Regional Managing Director, Canada, the People Business Partner acts as a key strategic advisor to the leadership team, delivering tailored people services for the region while harmonizing with SLR's global approach.

**Key Accountabilities:**
- Partner with the business as a trusted advisor to senior leaders.
- Lead the creation and delivery of strategic people plans aligned with business strategy to enhance organizational capability.
- Collaborate with Global Functions (Talent, Services, and Culture) to guide the business on core people processes following SLR’s global People Calendar.
- Provide management information and insights for effective people management, cost, and risk.
- Share market trends and best practices on people management to support SLR's position as a preferred employer.
- Ensure effective services and access channels to Global Function teams in the region.
- Advise and coach line managers on policy queries and employee relations matters.
- Support the integration of newly acquired businesses for a positive experience.
- Aid in organizational design and change management processes.
- Incorporate HR best practices in structural changes and compliance requirements.
- Support projects and process improvements in conjunction with the global People team.

**Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:**
- Proven experience as an HR Business Partner at a senior level, overseeing the full employee lifecycle.
- Strong knowledge of provincial employment standards and human rights laws across Canada.
- Experience working collaboratively within a 'Centres of Expertise' HR operating model (e.g., DE&I, HR Services, Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition).
- Commercial and financial awareness, with high business acumen and understanding of market drivers.
- Strong relationship and account management skills, including negotiation, consultancy, and communication.
- Proven ability to coach senior managers, manage difficult discussions with empathy.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to work under ambiguity.
- High impact communicator, both verbally and in writing.
- High emotional intelligence, results-oriented, collaborative, and resilient.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
