**What is the Opportunity?**

Reporting to the Manager, Procurement, the Procurement Specialist is responsible for all purchasing related activities, ensuring the timely delivery of materials and services to the site, and tracking deliveries and returns of rental equipment.

**What You'll Do Here:**

- Understand how purchasing can enhance the enterprise, supply chain, and competitive strategy.
- Develop detailed plans to optimize the delivery of equipment, materials, supplies, and services for quality, cost, and schedule.
- Prepare and issue RFQ documents to qualified vendors.
- Negotiate best price, delivery, terms of payment, and other factors impacting the total cost of procured items or services.
- Collaborate with Aecon’s Operations personnel and support the operations team with pricing at the tendering stage.
- Manage logistics and expedite critical site deliveries.
- Analyze internal third-party agreements and manage the lifecycle of purchase order activity.
- Participate in the evaluation of suppliers and adhere to Aecon’s procurement and safety policies.
- Provide reporting and analysis on procurement activities.

**What You Bring To The Table:**

- 5+ years of experience in a purchasing department within the construction industry.
- Knowledge of purchasing principles, contract law, and business agreements.
- Proven organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
