With our global head office in Amsterdam, we are entering a new phase of growth in North America. We have opened an office in Toronto to serve as our North American Headquarters and are seeking our first Operations team member in Canada. This hybrid role will be based out of our office in downtown Toronto and involves business travel primarily within North America and occasionally to Europe.
**THE ROLE**
We are developing our supply chain through outsourced production and strategic partnerships with key suppliers. The Procurement Manager will play a critical role in the search, selection, and management of these partner suppliers. Responsibilities include new tender processes, strategic sourcing, negotiations, supplier relationship management, and overseeing material and component suppliers.
You will be expected to operate autonomously while also collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout New Product Introduction (NPI), ramp-up, and full-scale production. Additionally, you will manage vendor relations focusing on Quality, Logistics, Technical, Cost, and Sustainability aspects. The role includes monitoring and managing contracts, leading supplier audits, and supporting technical procurement for Skytree's technology development teams.
**YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT BY:**
- Leading sourcing and selection teams for new partner vendors in the North American markets.
- Establishing, negotiating, reviewing, and managing contracts, framework agreements, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Coordinating cross-functional teams to oversee partner vendors.
- Maintaining vendor relations focused on QLTCS aspects, leading vendor audit programs, and managing cost reduction initiatives.
- Supporting Product and R&D departments with their procurement needs and reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager.
- Executing long-term sourcing and supplier partnering strategies.
- Optimizing bidding and supplier management processes.
- Sourcing, evaluating, and selecting suppliers capable of providing the required technical products or services.
- Understanding technical specifications, functionalities, and requirements for products or services being procured.
- Assessing and mitigating risks associated with the procurement process.
- Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and market developments.
**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:**
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in purchasing within international production companies focused on high-tech products, including machines and components.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Economics, Purchasing, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams in NPI, Ramp-Up, and Life Cycle Management.
- Strong negotiating skills and purchasing knowledge.
- Additional purchasing certification or courses are appreciated.
