**Job Title: Assistant Product Manager**

**Job Description:**

As the owner of the product development milestones for their respective categories, the Assistant Product Manager will be responsible for ensuring the timeliness of the product’s checkpoint approvals from ideation to shelf. The successful candidate will collaborate professionally with various team members, both internally and externally, to ensure that products meet the quality, packaging guidelines, and brand essence expectations of the OWN Brands at Staples Canada.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Create a tracking system to collect and store current financials, vendor information, packaging, and quality assurance documents by category.
- Work closely with internal systems, online websites, and vendor partners to build a systematic go-forward database.
- Collaborate and coordinate with product managers, merchandising teams, vendor partners, and quality assurance to achieve product timeline checkpoints for successful launches.
- Utilize problem-solving skills to expedite processes when required; maintain keen attention to detail to oversee final on-shelf product details.
- Conduct weekly sales reporting for the OWN Brands team and quarterly in-depth financial analysis, providing insights on performance by category.
- Maintain a private label brand versus national brand sales comparison file to ensure adherence to brand architecture guardrails with the most current system costing.

**Qualifications:**

- High school education required; post-secondary education is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills: written, verbal, and formal presentation capabilities.
- Strong organizational skills to pull and analyze sales data for financial reporting.
- Experience in writing detailed documents and organizing master data into efficient systems.
- Previous experience monitoring packaging and quality assurance reports is a bonus.
- Relevant experience in a similar role or field is preferred.
