**Job Posting: Security Technician**
**Vision**
The Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) serves approximately 87,000 students in nearly 200 Catholic schools in the City of Toronto. The TCDSB is seeking a full-time Security Technician within the East/West Facilities & Maintenance department.
**Position Details**
- **Type:** Permanent, 12-month position
- **Hours:** 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (hours of work will align with the collective agreement)
- **Location:** Flexible home base, to be determined by management based on system needs
**Key Accountabilities**
- Inspect, test, repair, and install security alarm panels, card access systems, cameras, DVRs, and public address systems in all schools and administrative buildings
- Ensure compliance with TCDSB specifications and maintain equipment according to manufacturer's recommendations
- Safely operate and maintain tools and company vehicles
- Maintain accurate records including vehicle maintenance, work orders, timesheets, and alarm system inspection reports
- Perform other job-related duties as required
- Use proper safety protective equipment at all times
**Qualifications**
- Community college diploma in Electronic Engineering Technician
- Canadian Security Association's (CANASA) Alarm Technician Course (ATC) preferred
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years practical experience with systems including Silent Knight, DCS, Kantech, Avigilon, Telecor, Dukane, Carehawk, and Roland
- Working knowledge of electrical equipment and materials
- Ability to understand schematics and troubleshoot electronic systems
- Ability to work independently
- Valid Ontario Driver's "G" license (candidates must submit their driver's license upon request) and access to a reliable automobile
- Proficient in English to comprehend manuals and maintain work records
**Compensation**
This position is part of CUPE Local 4400 with a pay rate of $36.05 per hour.
