**Job Title:** Senior Consultant, Business Quality Control
**Client:** Top 5 Bank
**Duration:** 12-month contract, with high possibility of extension
**Location:** Downtown Toronto, 1-2 days/week

**Job Description:**
We are seeking an experienced BQC Consultant to join our client, a top 5 bank in Downtown Toronto. This role is critical in supporting our efforts to build a robust compliance framework that meets regulatory requirements.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Control Testing Experience:** Gain hands-on experience in control testing and leverage that knowledge to improve processes. Conduct tests and review the database to identify and implement necessary adjustments. Document discovery, sorting, and communication to isolate various processes.
- **Process Improvement:** Perform testing and build out the data repository. Focus on quality control in banking, requiring deep subject knowledge. Improve processes through process engineering and building tools for developers. Map out processes and apply process engineering expertise.
- **Governance and Risk Framework:** Implement the governance risk framework in the first line. Work on the MRIA project, focusing on the risk framework mandated by the FED. Implement directives and policies based on identified issues.
- **Audit Automation and Standardization:** Develop and implement audit automation processes. Standardize audit procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- **Risk Assessment and Mitigation:** Conduct risk assessments in the first line of defense. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address identified risks.

**Technical Skills:**
- Proficiency with MS platform and SharePoint
- Experience with documentation management tools
- Knowledge of developer languages like Python is a significant asset

**Qualifications:**
- Extensive experience in risk management, governance, and business control testing
- Strong understanding of the three lines of defense in financial institutions
- Proven ability to improve processes and implement effective control frameworks
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities
