**Job Posting: Senior Business Data Engineer**

**Role Summary:**
The Client Experience Office (CXO) at Sun Life is a key component of our corporate strategy, seeking experienced data engineering professionals with a strong history of collaborating with data consumers to extract valuable insights from enterprise data. As a Senior Business Data Engineer, you will play a vital role in creating data products that support various analytical models utilized by business units across Canada. Reporting to the Manager of Data Engineering, you will be an essential member of the Data Enablement Team, focused on building enriched data products that provide deep insights into our clients, advisors, products, and transactions.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Understand enterprise data and interpret it to derive business value.
- Design and engineer data models that represent key business entities such as Advisors, Clients, and Products.
- Ensure high levels of data quality and integrity across data sources.
- Convert complex business and technical rules into logical data flows and pipelines.
- Collaborate with Data Science teams to implement data products for various use cases.
- Work with stakeholders to incorporate their requirements into solution designs.
- Standardize metadata into a common glossary along with comprehensive documentation for data consumers.

**Qualifications:**
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience with AWS technologies for data processing and analytics.
- 3+ years of experience with AWS Glue (ETL, Glue Catalog, Glue Data Quality), AWS Step Functions, AWS Lambda, AWS Athena.
- Familiarity with AWS CLI, IAM, Tableau, and Quicksight is a plus.
- 3 years of experience in Python, PySpark, and SQL.
- Demonstrated experience in performance tuning of Spark jobs.
- 5 years of hands-on experience with relational database systems and analytical models.
- 3-5 years of experience engineering data products as inputs to analytical models.
- Understanding of data management principles (data warehousing, data quality, master data management) and data governance principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to partner with Data Scientists.

**Education:**
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent.
- Graduate degree in business or quantitative science strongly preferred.

**Unique Requirements:**
The selected candidate must obtain Canadian Reliability Security Clearance.

**Desirable Attributes:**
- Experience working with Agile methodologies and knowledge of statistical models and techniques.
- Previous experience in a large financial services organization.
