**Opportunity Overview:**
The Senior Director of Purchasing will be a key member of the North American Strategic Procurement team, responsible for developing and implementing purchasing strategies that deliver exceptional results in people, processes, costs, and supply. This role involves close collaboration with the global purchasing team and requires the ability to establish strong networking relationships within a global matrix organization. The Senior Director will guide direct reports on sourcing strategies, lead working capital initiatives, and ensure alignment with the company’s overarching goals.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Ensure compliance of purchased materials, suppliers, and services with company requirements.
- Oversee purchasing for packaging categories across multiple business units in the U.S. and Canada.
- Manage company acquisitions with support from the global procurement team.
- Develop and implement best-in-class purchasing policies, processes, and training.
- Drive cost reductions in packaging without compromising quality or business continuity.
- Support global procurement initiatives by providing relevant information and managing local negotiations.
- Provide purchasing leadership and insights to various departments, including Operations, Finance, and R&D.
- Lead a high-performing team of purchasing professionals, ensuring talent development and performance feedback.
- Establish capabilities and accountability within the Procurement group.
- Take ownership of the budget, ensuring it aligns with corporate procurement strategies.
- Create competitive advantages through innovation in purchasing.

**Qualifications:**
- University degree; MBA is an asset.
- Minimum 15 years of leadership experience in purchasing, specifically in packaging.
- At least 7 years of experience with SAP or similar business systems.
- French language skills are an asset.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with an ability to influence towards common goals.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food packaging across various dairy categories.
- Strategic, tactical, and analytical skills with a broad understanding of business and purchasing functions.
- Proven negotiation skills and organizational abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other standard office technologies.
- Strong consultative and customer-centric approach.
