**Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst**
**Overview:**
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in the SAP upgrade implementation project at Toronto East Health Network. The Senior Financial Analyst will also provide support for financial reporting and planning activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial systems and analytics, along with hands-on experience in SAP.
**Primary Responsibilities:**
- Understand business requirements, functional specifications, and technical designs to support design, testing, and implementation needs.
- Collaborate and communicate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, developers, leads, and end-users.
- Perform various types of testing to validate functionalities, interactions between SAP modules and other systems, and data integrity, identifying defects or risks.
- Log, track, and document all testing issues, providing reports to stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot all identified issues and reconcile data for system data migration.
- Support training efforts by developing and validating training materials on the SAP system.
- Complete other relevant ad hoc tasks as required.
**Secondary Responsibilities:**
- Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and variance reports.
- Monitor and analyze assigned program operational performance against plans by providing monthly status and year-end forecast reports.
- Provide support to programs and services by assisting in navigating financial and non-financial data to improve operational efficiency.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes of funds and accounts.
- Prepare and review account reconciliations to ensure quality control and accuracy of accounting records in accordance with MIS Guidelines.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual financial statements, including note disclosures and supporting working papers required for the external audit review.
- Coordinate the external audit review of hospital accounting systems and records.
- Ensure accounting policies are in compliance with internal policies and MIS Guidelines.
- Participate in projects involving the hospital and external stakeholders, such as budget and business intelligence tools implementations, automation of finance processes, and analysis of various requests for proposals.
**Education:**
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CA, CMA, or CGA) designation coupled with a degree in business or relevant program of study.
- Proven working knowledge of SAP is required.
- Strong computer skills in all Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and an aptitude for learning new computer applications quickly.
- Familiarity with SmartStream and Cognos is an asset.
- Working knowledge of MIS Standards and MOHLTC reporting requirements preferred.
- Experience using multiple data sources (financial, statistical, Ministry data, etc.) to develop and prepare complex analyses preferred.
- Experience in system implementation projects is an asset.
**Qualifications:**
- 3-5 years of financial analysis and interpretation of results, including budget variances, in a hospital setting.
- Strong analytical and communication skills are required, as well as the ability to work independently.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrated excellence in organizing and prioritizing workflow to meet deadlines in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment.
- Flexible, self-directed, and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated effective organizational, leadership, judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Strong ability to interact with various levels of client groups, both internally and externally.
