**The Work**
As part of the Commercial Department, the Senior Manager, Commercial Funding will manage and supervise the Commercial Funding staff. This role is critical in ensuring transactions are closed timely while meeting all regulatory and internal requirements. Strong leadership, interpersonal skills, and a commitment to compliance are essential.
**Core Responsibilities**
- **Compliance and Risk Management**: Oversee the Commercial Funding team to ensure compliance with internal policies and legal regulations during pre-funding and funding stages.
- **Transaction Management**: Ensure all security documentation and transactions adhere to regulatory and credit requirements.
- **Process Improvement**: Maintain and enhance processes within the Commercial Funding team to promote efficiency and compliance with regulatory changes.
- **Legal Documentation**: Draft and negotiate legal documentation for a variety of commercial transactions, collaborating with the Legal Department as necessary.
- **Projects and Strategy**: Assist in developing policies for new partnered business and contribute to product development.
**Qualifications**
- JD, Bachelor of Laws, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent.
- 7-10 years of relevant legal experience in commercial real estate.
- Minimum of 2 years of managerial experience.
- Strong knowledge of AML/ATF legislation, commercial property insurance requirements, and real estate law across multiple jurisdictions in Canada.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and risk assessment skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word and Excel) and PPLUS.
