**Team Overview:**
The award-winning Equity Income team focuses on quality businesses at a reasonable price (QUARP®), emphasizing dividend-paying securities. We are currently seeking a Senior Portfolio Analyst to contribute to our focus on the Infrastructure and Utilities sectors.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Analyze financial information for Canadian, US, and global companies within the Infrastructure & Utilities sectors.
- Evaluate annual reports and regulatory filings, structuring findings into accessible formats and writing succinct research reports for stock selection.
- Gather industry, company, and economic data from various sources to draft reports and make informed investment recommendations.
- Provide ongoing coverage of relevant sector events to the investment team, summarizing research for oral presentations and written reports.
- Maintain financial models for securities within the team’s funds, monitoring public information and updating the team with material news.
- Engage with company management and attend industry seminars to report relevant information.
- Collaborate across 1832 Asset Management, contributing to sector discussions and supporting back-up administrative duties as needed.
**Qualifications:**
- University degree, preferably with a post-graduate degree in Economics, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in buy or sell-side securities analysis; sector expertise is a plus.
- CFA Charterholder or active enrollment in the CFA program is preferred.
- Strong financial modeling skills with the ability to run complex models independently.
- Familiarity with investment systems (e.g., Bloomberg, CPMS, Charles River) is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage stress, and handle multiple tasks.
- Willingness to travel for industry seminars and company meetings.
