**Role Overview:**
The Senior Tax Analyst acts as a team lead within the Canadian tax team for key activities such as tax compliance, tax accounting, provisioning, audits, and governance for the Allstate Canada Group of companies. This role involves applying current tax legislation to minimize corporate taxes paid, analyzing, verifying, and reconciling corporate tax accounts and returns, coordinating external audits, and researching corporate tax issues.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Prepare detailed quarterly and annual tax provisions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis.
- Assist with the preparation of premium tax, income tax, and HST/GST returns in a timely manner.
- Coordinate provincial income tax, commodity tax, transfer pricing tax, and HST/GST tax audits with CRA, auditors, and business partners.
- Provide tax expertise and act as a technical escalation point for tax issues within the organization.
- Lead tax projects and conduct detailed analysis for cross-functional projects.
- Analyze the tax effects of business transactions and communicate findings internally.
- Maintain records for tax compliance activities and improve tax process documentation.

**Qualifications:**
- Accounting designation required (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in corporate income tax and commodity tax.
- Knowledge of financial reporting, preferably in the financial services or insurance industry.
- Familiarity with accounting principles (IFRS, GAAP) and legal/regulatory tax accounting requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP) and strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Strong research, analytical, critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage projects and prioritize tasks with attention to detail.

**Additional Qualifications:**
- Enrolled in or completed the In-Depth Tax program is an asset.
