We are expanding our Digital team at RBC and seeking individuals for our SRE team. **What Will You Do?**
- Monitor the production environment to ensure availability and overall system health.
- Debug production issues across services and levels of the stack, providing operational support and engineering for large, distributed software applications.
- Drive tool creation for application health monitoring and alerting.
- Improve reliability, quality, and speed of our software solutions.
- Measure and optimize system performance, innovating to continually improve capabilities.
- Gather and analyze metrics to assist in performance tuning and fault finding.
- Collaborate with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures.
- Participate in system design consulting, automation, platform management, and capacity planning.
**Must Have:**
- 4-6 years of support experience in OpenShift, Azure & Kubernetes, Java, Spring Cloud
- 2-3 years of experience as an SRE supporting multiple applications
- Strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python
- SQL database operational experience and ability to write/understand database queries (SQL and/or No-SQL)
- Monitoring experience with tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, RUM, Grafana
- Experience in microservices, public cloud (Azure preferred), and container technologies
- Knowledge of public cloud (Microsoft Azure, AWS) and private cloud (OpenShift) platforms
- Familiarity with container orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
- Understanding of monitoring, centralized logging, and alerting for software systems
