**Job Posting: Software Development Engineer / Machine Learning Engineer (SDE/MLE)**

**Description:**
The Conversational AI Modeling and Learning (CAMEL) team is looking for a passionate, talented, and inventive SDE/MLE to play a pivotal role in developing industry-leading Generative AI (GenAI) powered conversational assistant capabilities using the latest techniques like fine-tuning, In Context Learning (ICL), and various prompt optimization techniques.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Quickly learn state-of-the-art technologies and algorithms in the field of Generative AI to help build the best conversational agent.
- Develop and maintain key platforms for developing, evaluating, and deploying large language models required for conversational agents.
- Collaborate with team members to investigate design approaches, prototype new technology, and evaluate technical feasibility.
- Work closely with applied scientists to process massive data, scale machine learning models, and optimize latency, cost, and capacity.
- Operate in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high-quality software against tight schedules.

**A Day in the Life:**
As a SDE with the CAMEL team, you will lead the development of high-performance, low-latency modeling solutions to advance the state of the art in Conversational Agents. Your contributions will significantly impact our customers through innovative products and services. You will leverage Amazon’s heterogeneous data sources and large-scale computing resources to accelerate development, improve multimodal Large Language Models (LLMs), and enhance Conversational Excellence. You will have considerable influence on our overall strategy through defining data, enrichment, model optimizations, and evaluation. You will also drive system architecture and best practices that ensure quality infrastructure.

**Basic Qualifications:**
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of design or architecture experience for new and existing systems.
- Proficiency in at least one software programming language.

**Preferred Qualifications:**
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
