**Position Overview:**
Astellas Pharma Canada is seeking a Solution Architect for Pharma R&D. This role is crucial in driving our digital initiatives within our agile organization. The Solution Architect will design, implement, and contribute innovative solutions that optimize our digital architecture landscape.

**Essential Job Duties:**
- **Solution Design and Development:** Design comprehensive application solutions that address business needs. Create scalable, secure, and maintainable architectural designs.
- **Technology Selection:** Evaluate and select appropriate technologies for application development projects.
- **Stakeholder Collaboration:** Work with business analysts, project managers, and Digital teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- **CI/CD Oversight:** Provide technical leadership throughout the development life cycle and guide teams to adhere to architectural designs.
- **Integration Architecture:** Oversee the integration of new applications with existing systems for seamless operation.
- **Performance Optimization:** Ensure solutions are optimized for performance and user experience; analyze and recommend improvements.
- **Compliance and Security:** Ensure architectures comply with regulations and incorporate security measures.
- **Documentation:** Create detailed documentation for application architectures.
- **Collaboration:** Collaborate with team members across digital and business units.
- **Continuous Learning:** Engage in professional development to stay current with trends and technologies.
- **Innovation:** Contribute innovative ideas to enhance project outcomes.
- **Reporting:** Regularly report on initiative progress to the Capability Lead.

**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Data Science, Marketing).
- 7-10 years of experience in the Pharma R&D space, with direct experience in Life Sciences technologies.
- Technical proficiency in software development and multiple programming languages (Java, .NET, Python), databases/data lakes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Strong understanding of architectural principles, microservices, API design, and Agile methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
