**Job Title:** Assistant Product Manager
**Job Description:**
As an Assistant Product Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing product development stages within their respective categories, ensuring timely approvals from ideation to shelf-ready status. The successful candidate will work collaboratively and professionally with various team members, both internally and externally, to ensure products meet quality, packaging guidelines, and the essence of the OWN Brands at Staples Canada. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the exciting beginnings of the OWN Brands department and to participate in establishing multiple new administrative processes.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Create a tracking system to collect and store all financial documents, supplier information, packaging, and quality assurance documents by category.
- Collaborate closely with our systems, online websites, internal teams, and supplier partners to build a systematic database for future use.
- Coordinate with the product manager, merchandising teams, supplier partners, packaging, and quality assurance to meet product launch timelines.
- Resolve issues to expedite processes as needed while paying keen attention to detail regarding final merchandising requirements.
- Manage organization and implementation of business activities, including organizing training and managing human resources.
- Update a comparative sales file between private labels and national brands to ensure adherence to brand architecture safeguards.
**Qualifications Required:**
- High school diploma required; post-secondary education is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills: written, verbal, and formal presentation abilities, with professional email etiquette.
- Ability to extract and organize sales data for financial root cause analysis.
- Experience in writing detailed documents and organizing data within effective housing systems.
- Previous experience tracking packaging and quality assurance reports is a plus.
- Relevant experience in a similar role or field.
