**About The Work Environment**
Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role, you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home, typically during regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm, with flexibility around start/end times. This position is based out of our Toronto offices. Successful candidates who apply outside of this area will be expected to relocate and reside within a commutable distance.

**About You**
You are an experienced data engineer passionate about designing best-in-class data solutions. With your expertise, you strive for high standards of quality when building data engineering workflows and their supporting infrastructure in a cloud-native environment.

**About The Qualifications**
- 7+ years of experience in the Data Engineering space.
- Proficiency in data engineering concepts, such as data warehouses and ETLs.
- Expert knowledge with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), in-memory databases (Redis), and non-relational databases (MongoDB).
- Mastery in Python, Spark, DBT, orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster), data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau), and data processing solutions (Talend, Monarch).
- 3+ years of hands-on experience designing and building enterprise data warehouses or data meshes.
- Expert in using Snowflake.
- 3+ years of experience in Cloud-Native infrastructure, including AWS, Azure, or GCP (AWS certification is an asset).
- Experience with cloud-native tools, such as object-storage, serverless processes, RDBMS, data processing platforms, and collaborating with security teams.
- Strong understanding of IT security best practices and data protection regulations.
- 2+ years of experience defining standards and guidelines around development (design, implementation) and tools (Jenkins, GitHub Action CI, CircleCI).
- Experience automating integration and deployment processes and troubleshooting cloud-based systems.
- Experience developing infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible) is an asset.
- Expert knowledge of logging, monitoring, and alerting tools (CloudWatch, DataDog).
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.

**About The Day-to-Day**
- Conceptualize, design, build, and support data systems with relational and non-relational data models.
- Ensure readiness for data streaming application consumption, scalability, reliability, and fault tolerance.
- Support the data development lifecycle by participating in agile ceremonies.
- Solve technical challenges and collaborate with the team on integrating new technologies.
- Conduct code and security reviews to ensure best practices are followed.

**Compensation**
Peoples Group offers a competitive annual salary plus a discretionary profit share opportunity. Employees receive both group benefits and the option to participate in our RRSP matching program, beginning on their first day of employment. The salary for this position will vary between $120,000.00 and $140,000.00 per year, depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience of the chosen candidate.
